It also been proven that hood openings in high pressure areas (ie right before the windscreen) raise under hood temps if you're moving above a certain speed (by pushing air back into your engine bay and not allowing the hot air to leave.
This reverse pressure works against the radiator by reducing the air flow through it... effectively removing any under hood temp reductions by dramatically raising engine temp.


The takeaway is that at a red Light spacers (and poorly positioned hood vents) will dump hot air out from under your hood... and as long as your not moving hood spacers work fine.


Anyone serious about cooling check this out.
