That looks pretty cool and wanted to do this myself. Just one question though, doesn't aluminum loose a polished finish quickly through heat and oxidation? I just want to see how well the polish holds up after a little while.

I've heard that it's not hard, but just a PITA and takes time and patience.
I think I'll have it powder coated with a clear coat to keep it from tarnishing.
I'm not real sure on that. It would probably be about $150 plus your core in return. I really wouldn't charge a core charge, If a person screws me out of the core, it would just give me a reason to not do it anymore.

 

i'm not real sure when i'd have the money to do this, but i've already got a core, so you don't have to worry . i could send you mine first too if it helps.

damn im suprised you kept at it... im trying to polish an extra valve cover i bought... but its going so damn slow! but its slowly getting there... and i do mean SLOWLY... im about to give up!
