The rear seems to be a toyota supra butt in disguise. The Z8 is the only beautiful car coming out of the BMW camp in my opinion. Their design studys including the 1 series is up there with the Yugo. Design chief needs to take my 2 cents and buy a clue.

The back does look like a stook. I think this car is a big step forward from the old Z3 which I never really liked. It looks a good bit longer, especially from the a pillar forward, the hood is much more graceful. The nose looks very good, although I still haven't gotten used to BMW's new scalloped headlights. The rear fenders are far bolder and balance the car out much more than the old one.

From these pics the most interesting element is definitely the sharp crease of the front fenders and how if extends into a dropping character line through the door handle. These pics are cropped too closely to really tell how that influences the overall look of the car, but it looks like the rear fender picks up the crease again, which is giving it a swoopy curvacous look, like a classic Ferrari. Having said all that, I like it!

PS, with an S52 motor, I don't care what it looks like

You're right Loki, BMW is trying to make it not look like an S2000 Which is why it looks so jacked... Hey I visited your M3 site... super packed with info. One thing I noticed... all pics with Hartge rims have disappeared. Weird I say...

Interesting, but what's the price- $44,000, $50,000? Anything less than that and it will be underpowered. I think the present M Roadster goes for $43,000.

P.S. Z9 that's funny.

i guess i'm in the minority here: i actually like it!! it looks much more modern and sleek than the current model. the lines flow pretty well, and the rear and front are unique at least. is this a chris bangle designed car?? i actually admire what bmw is doing with the new 7-series and now the Z3...i have not been a big fan of their current styling...too old and stuffy...these new designs breath some much needed fresh air into BMW.
