No, believe you're thinking of the 1 series that's coming next year.
Bet the Z4 will be heavier then the Z3 especially since the Z3 was a bit of flexible flyer.

This car's design sucks in a lot of ways 
The side profile from windshield back looks just great!! But the back (dead-on or 3/4 angles) and the front (dead-on or 3/4 angles) suck big time, the car looks cross-eyed, pudgy, fat, old, senile, DUMB, you name it. Inside is ok, it's typical BMW.

The M version of the Z4 is rumored to get the next evolution of the 3.2l I6 with 360hp. Personally I'm not a fan of the Chris Bangle reign of terror. Thankfully I got my M3 before he ruined it.
