BosStylists Show Car - Lots Of Pics

Hi & welcome to my s2000 project

This project has been in the planning stages for the last 4-5 months and is finally ready to go!
Just a bit of backround info to get you guys up to date, I will give more detailed information as we go along.
  • The Car: 2005 AP2 s2000 with 9000 miles.
  • Location: The car will be built by RAW Racing, Florida, and once completed will be shipped to its final destination in Gibraltar, Europe. There are such few parts around here and the ones there are are so expensive that I decided to do my car in the USA and ship it over.
  • Plan: Once in Europe the car is lined up for photoshoots with two of the biggest tuning magazines in Europe, as well as a number of big shows. I will be updating everyone on this once the time comes...currently it seems very very very far away :(
  • Sponsors: Before I start I would like to thank all my current sponsors, not only for believing in this project but also for doing everything they can to help every step of the way:
    • Mike @ Bulletproof Automotive
    • Cody @ Lovefab
    • Richie & Andres @ RAW Racing
If anyone has any further interest in sponsoring this project please get in contact with me ;)

Here are some teaser pics (edited photoshop images) to give you an idea of what the car will look like:

The car is currently being stripped and prepared to be painted. Ill post some more pics up later and keep you up to date on whats going on.

Thanks for looking & enjoy!

Wow! You've got some big plans. The parts that you have listed should make a very nice ride. It's gotta be kinda crazy just modding a car pretty much all the way, in one shot. I'd love to do that some day.

Basskika 07-22-2007 11:59 AM

Thanks Andres that would be great...will upload them straight away ;)

GibBabe 07-23-2007 12:55 AM

Ralph,

Project sounds great!! Can't wait to see it when it gets here.

Good luck and i'll be on regularly to keep up to date, seeing as you are keeping everything so quite around here!

1AP12NV 07-23-2007 04:09 AM

If I may make a suggestion on your plans....

You have chosen some extremely high quality parts for your build (the Tracy Sports parts in particular), it seems like the Konig seats (I wasn't even aware Konig made seats till I saw this post) don't fit with the overall quality of the build you're doing and that the interior might match more closely with the exterior if you were to choose seats from a manufacturer such as Bride, Recaro, or even Mugen.

With that said the project looks like it will come out great, best of luck to you!

Basskika 07-23-2007 04:44 AM

[FONT=Courier]1AP12NV - Thank you for your suggestion, suggestions are very much appreciated, as there are still many parts of the project that I havnt decided on.

I think we are talking about a different K

Spolier options: Im not 100% sure on what spoiler to put on the car yet. Im not too keen on GT Wings as I feel they are a bit OTT and only appropriate for track use. These are my two options at the moment.

Any opinions / any other alternatives would be great!! Thanks

Car Man-G. 07-23-2007 10:55 AM

What is the paint scheme on the wheels? I like how they have a chameleon effect. Perhaps it's from the reflection, or is that the actual color?

Basskika 07-23-2007 11:03 AM

what about the Feels wings?
The feels wing doesnt do much, seems a bit too plain for the wide body IMO, but thanks for the suggestion!

1AP12NV - If u have the wing I maybe interested - PM me a price if u are. In terms of the seats I will look further into in when the time comes, but thanks for your imput, I will definately be reconsidering when the time comes ;)

I would look into different wheels!
Im sorry if you have been mislead, the wheels in the photoshop image are not the ones being used, I will post a pic up in a bit

Thanks for all your imput guys, keep it up!!

yelis300 07-23-2007 01:33 PM

The car will be at the shop soon, probably this week to start with the project.
pictures of the kit will be up soon.

Basskika 07-23-2007 01:38 PM

Hey Andres, u able to go on msn now??

Will be posting pics of the wheels and the kit soon ;)

-LAW- 07-23-2007 02:07 PM

Try considering J's Wing

If ur going widebody you need a wing to back it up :D

The +INGS low mount is too conservative ;)

OR you wanna check out the C-West Wing

RAW  should take care of u... Cool People!

no, i'm talking about the racing harts... i would look at other options...

personally, i would like to see a custom set of CCW classics or maybe the CCW T10 or C14

maybe look into some wide, low offset ce28n or RGIIs

Basskika 07-23-2007 02:22 PM

C-West wing is much more appealing than the J's, the J's seems to be too much.

I agree the Ings is very conservative, but if you look at other WB builds the GT wing does sometimes look OTT.

Its something I am having the most trouble with. Havnt made a decision as to what I want to go with :z

Agree 100%, great people!

Thanks for your help!!

-LAW- 07-23-2007 02:34 PM

wanna buy my wing ? :D i can drop it off at the shop

Check out VOLK wheels

Borbor 07-23-2007 04:01 PM

what is with that suspension choice :/

Basskika 07-23-2007 10:03 PM

no, i'm talking about the racing harts... i would look at other options...
Im already set on the Racing Harts and have them sponsored, so I am going to stick to them.

Even so thanks for your opinion!

[QUOTE]wanna buy my wing ?

kaansahbaz 07-24-2007 12:47 AM

j's racing hood + type s wing FTW FTW FTW

Basskika 07-24-2007 11:25 AM

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm not a fan of the wing and prefer Mugen hood

neveronlines2k 07-24-2007 01:01 PM

I cant wait to see pics of the build and the finished product! I was wondering why you dont look to Amuse for more of the other mods (brakes, Suspension, etc.)? That way most of the mods are manufacture specific too.

Some suggestions I have are:

*Spoiler (considering Ings+1 / Bros) - I like the Ings, but would consider the ASM GT wing, and Amuse. The Amuse may look OTT, but it works with their widebody (and looks great IMHO).

*Suspension (considering Tein Flex with EDFC) - They seem kind of low end considering your build why not Amuse, Aragostas, Sachs, Top fuel, Penske or Motons?

*BBK (considering J's Racing / Endless / Stoptec) - I would use all but stoptech doesnt fit the theme as good, but are probably easier to obtain sponsership and work well. Amuse would be a good choice too.

*Radiator ( considering Spoon / Mugen / Koyo) - I would go with the Mugen or even ARC.

*Hood (considering Mugen) Mugen makes a really nice hood, you might want to consider the ASM Dry CF one too, also in the JDM forum there is a pic of a new Amuse hood that should work great with your turbo kit!

*CF mirrors (?) - Craft Square or MR high mount mirrors (The ones S2X sells)

*JDM cluster - I would just leave the OEM one unless you can figure out how to get the Mugen cluster to work

If you finished off the car with all the Amuse parts and the Amuse CF HT it would be game over (Amuse GT clone :eek3: )

Basskika 07-24-2007 02:42 PM

neveronlines2k - Thanks for your post...some very good suggestions!

I have seen the hood. Having mixed feelings about it, Im not yet sure if I like it or I dont :z

*Radiator ( considering Spoon / Mugen / Koyo) - I would go with the Mugen or even ARC.
ARC definately an option, sorry forgot to include it

*Suspension (considering Tein Flex with EDFC) - They seem kind of low end considering your build why not Amuse, Aragostas, Sachs, Top fuel, Penske or Motons?
Suspension is my weak point...not very up to date on the parts available and the quality, I will definately look into all the ones you listed, thanks!!

Thanks for your post, it has been of great help ;)

Basskika 07-24-2007 02:46 PM

since you are going all out on the project, i say step it up with some nicer wheels. not bagging on racing hart, but with the amount your spending you should look into some volks or something that would really complete the look. i say get some recaro's also :D thats just my 2 cents

but the car is going to look good man, i love the tracy sports kit

neveronlines2k 07-24-2007 03:19 PM

I know the new Amuse hood is love it or hate it, but with an aggressive widebody kit you can defenitely pull it off :)

Glad I could help ;)

Hi Ralph! Looks like you're dream is starting to come true! :)

I've been looking into some options for you.. give me a call sometime soon and i'll let you know what I have in mind for you!

-Mike

P.S. That Amuse hood is perfect! Too bad they don't have any plans to make this... we've already tried :brokehrt:

nichigo 07-24-2007 06:25 PM

i'm probably the only one that's going to say this...but i'd rock the ings+ wing...it's my favorite wing at the moment...and i think it'd look great with the widebody...a more subtle look.

Basskika 07-25-2007 12:05 AM

Mike,

Dont tell me that!! I was just starting to fall in  with it!!!!

Will give u a call some time and se can discuss the options available ;)

Benz 07-25-2007 01:30 AM

By sponsor...does it mean they give it to you at cost? Or even lower?

Basskika 07-25-2007 01:50 AM

Depends, there are two different types:

Whole Sponsorship is where you get the product for free, in return for advertising the company on your car.
Your main chance of getting this is by going directly to the manufacturers of the parts themselves.

Partial sponsorship is when you are given the parts at a discount. This generally tends to be at cost price, however some firms may just give you a slight discount, whilst others may offer you it below cost price.

It all depends on what you offer them in return. Remember by giving you sponsorship they are in essence loosing profit, so you must offer them a justified return on their investment in you.

Hope this helps ;)

TrackStar 07-25-2007 06:02 AM

I would pick out better coilovers.

Basskika 07-25-2007 07:53 AM

I would pick out better coilovers.
Which do you suggest?

jsp872 07-25-2007 08:49 AM

ok..that took a bit to read the whole thread..
but here are my suggestions.

Wheels - I would suggest CE28N, they are very lights and looks very nice!! (I know you have a sponsorship with Racingheart, but I'm just throwing out my ideas)

BBK - I don't know too much about the Stoptech, Endless, etc. But did you also consider Brembos?

Wing Spoiler - I personally think the Mugen SS spoiler looks nice. I know it sits low, but it is wide enough to go with the wide body. I think you could fabricated so it sits about 2 inches higher. If not, I would get the ING+1.

But yeah, thats my input, I really like the color choice, looks nice.

TrackStar 07-25-2007 09:15 AM

Do KW V3 for a streetable/track coilover- not that much more than the TEINs. If you really want TEIN coilovers do the SRCs. With all the money you are spending I would do Ohlins, Sachs, Motons, etc.

Basskika 07-25-2007 12:37 PM

TrackStar

Basskika 07-25-2007 12:39 PM

The reason for my wheel choice is as follows:

Racing Hart is a good wheel make and the wheels I chose were personally the ones I liked the most esthetically. Besides choosing a good make IMO the most important factor when choosing wheels is choosing some that you like and that will suit the car.

I believe these will end up looking very good on the car:

-Mike

TrackStar 07-26-2007 07:19 AM

Nice- that widebody looks gorgeous as it doesn't look ridiculous on the street, yet still exotic.

As for brakes, I would just get Stoptech's, as they have a great rep and are the choice of many serious track drivers. They are much less money as well and I'm assuming you will get better (guaranteed English speaking) customer service.

I like my Buddyclubs- most of us guys that use 'em love 'em, but most of the guys that have never tried 'em hate them  They are flexible in the range of adjustability to be suitable for the street, yet stiff enough for some track use.

S2000 owners are notorious for pissing away money on the rarest, most JDM, hard to find parts, but these coilovers seem to work for quite a few U.S. built Time Attack Evos, like AMS and Road Race Engineering among others. These cars happen to be faster than most any S you will ever see.

That new Amuse hood looks like it'd be overkill on an otherwise 'stock' bodied S2K, but with the Tracy Sports kit it would definitely look HOT!

Basskika,

I wish you the best of luck on project. If you are looking at suspension, look for something kind of stiff (you will need it for the rear if you dump it). I like the wheel choice. You should also look at these two, I think they would look awesome(I am thinking about getting a daily driving set :) )
http://www.driftworks.com/catalog/products...-18-wheels.html
http://www.driftworks.com/catalog/products...-18-wheels.html
Or the real thing of the above.

Basskika 07-27-2007 11:00 AM

Those wheels are sweet!! If you are interested in buying them look in the US, I have looked them up on a couple of websites and they are MUCH cheaper!

Will be posting some teaser pics up soon ;)

BulletProofAuto 07-27-2007 01:51 PM

I personally wouldn't suggest putting Rotas on a beautiful car you spent so much money on... Think of it like buying a Tracy Sports Titanium exhaust, and topping it off with a DC Sports header...

Also Ralph, just wanted to tease you a bit...
we have your Tracy Sport Dual 70mm in :)

Thanks for the pics Mike, will be in touch early next week!

Have a nice weekend ;)

cpoz 07-27-2007 03:34 PM

Mike, I agree with you. I was stating for a daily driver set of wheels. I have driven about 4 hours on my Works, and already have tiny "road rash" marks on them. It could just be my highways, or the size of the lip. I just don't want someone to ruin there "show" wheels putting around town

-Chris

Basskika 07-28-2007 12:06 AM

:iagree: they are nowhere near the same class, but there is some logic to what chris is saying

silentdancer 07-28-2007 08:49 AM

nice exhaust

Basskika 07-29-2007 03:40 AM

Thank you.

It seems to be a great exhaust. If it is of the quality of the other Tracy Sports products I'm sure it will be great ;)

Its only direct competition is the Amuse exhaust, and from what I understand it does not have the rattling problems of the Amuse.

I will report further on this matter once I have the exhaust installed and running.
