Default Can someone recommend a tripod?

I need to get a tripod for a project that I'm working on, and would also like to have one in general. I'm very much a "weekend warrior"/amatuer photographer, and I don't want to spend a fortune on a tripod. Preferably something that's good and stable but still decently easy to move around. The cheaper the better.

Any recommendations?

http://www.bhphotovideo.com << Maybe you can start from here..

I always look for Light, stronge structure, that can easily be carried and moved around...

One important factor that you can dis-mantal the camera from the pod quickly.. sometime you need it to snap out/in quickly from the tripod head. or Head (Quick Release).. << (I don't know what it is called)..

Some of the brands that I have used was Manfrotto < excellent, but $$$

It is worth the money, very durable, light! and can last forever before anything wears out..!

I hope this was usefull

IMO, you can go cheap on tripods... I did a lot of film stuff for fun in the past and it was difficult because obviously I want to move the camera.

In a still camera's case, depends if you really want fancy junk like being able to tilt the camera, or being able to raise it and lower it without moving the legs of the tripod.

I say go with whatever is cheap and sturdy. *shrug*

Yeah, but aren't the Bogan tripods a couple hundred bucks?

they are a couple hundred. theyre actually cheap considering their features. (ie. compared to other pro, prosumer tripods which can run into the thousands) its worth the investment. try ebay or the recycler. a good fluidhead tripod is worth its weight in gold. that said you can find great used ones on ebay for 50 to 100 bucks and since theyre so rugged its almost certain they'll work well used.

I'll keep that in mind, but I'm still not sure I want to spend that. Thanks for the input.
