I'll have to agree with this. OEM top looks good, but it really does make the car look like a Miata from the rear. The Mugen HT just makes the S look more exotic and sleek.

Dont forget to take this into consideration:

OEM = rear defogger
Mugen = no rear defogger
Mooncraft = No rear defogger

Thats why I say Amuse Hardtop

It is very rare and looks like OEM, but its light weight (carbon) and has rear defogger (the first version used a toyota rear glass and had defogger) I have never seen one in person so I dont know if they still make them with a defogger.

I like the look of Mugen better, but I think that the oem top will look better on your car.

You left me out. I told you to get both.

Seriously, what are your goals? If you need something comfortable, you should go with the OEM. With the oem, the cabin noise is reduced much more than the Mugen top or the softtop up. The Mugen top can be as noisy as the softtop. The oem is much heavier (45 lbs) vs. Mugen (22lbs) which actually helps reduce rattling noises as well as cabin noise. The Mugen top is a bit flimsy and can cause much rattling noise. If you're anal-retentive, get the oem top. As others mentioned, the OEM top has a rear defogger/defroster which helps. The Mugen rear window does not. Also, the OEM top has a much larger window (hence the increased weight). The rear visibility with the OEM top is nothing short of amazing. It's like you have the top down with a hardtop on. The Mugen rear window is the same size as the rear window of the >+MY02 softtop. It's tiny. At least it's tinted. The interior of the OEM HT is padded similar to the rest of the interior of your car. The Mugen HT interior is just the shell itself. No padding. Hence the lighter weight. The Amuse hardtop would be nice, but my guess is that you're not looking to spend $6000 on either a Carbon-fiber Amuse HT or Carbon-fiber Mugen HT. Personally, your car looks better with oem.

If you track the car, Mugen is better b/c of the aerodynamics and the weight. If you're a Mugen-whore like I am, Mugen is a must!

OEM FTW.
Looks nicer, a little cheaper, defroster, and much nicer headliner/insulation.
