That has to be one of the worst parking jobs I've ever seen.

This is mr_jil again. Me and Bobby (icemans2k02) might be buying it back from insurance depending on how much it is and parting it out. The only thing on the car right now for sale, is the passenger side blinker. Lol jk, Engine/tranny is great, interior wasn't touched... so keep your eyes open in the marketplace within the next week or so. =)

How does this happen when the roads are dry? I can understand when its wet out... but going full throttle straight, on a dry road?? Even if you're switching lanes, you're still going pretty straight.

It still can happen almost just as easily. Obviously when the roads are wet, the rain channels in the tire's treads will flow water away. However, when it's dry, having a bald tire doesn't always equal "omg, more contact patch = more surface area = omg win!"

Unless the tire is made to be shaved/perform better when hot/worn down a bit, most road going tires will perform a LOT worse when worn down. I don't know where the OP is, but lately in the Northeast region, it's been quite cold. Hell, it's winter. Cold, bald tires in low temperatures do not make for a good combination. These were my tires until recently. If it was below 40 degrees, turning in a residential neighborhood would make my rear end slide out.
