Two questions:
What the hell happened to your steering wheel, and
Are you crazy? Snow? Things MUST be different where you are. Here, snow, forget about it.
I had an Eclipse Turbo (long time ago...first version if you know what I mean...still the best version if you ask me) and it always whinned when it spooled. I don't hear that in your car.

Snow...ya, but the roads were dry
As for no turbo whine...its there, but I have a straight 3-4" exhaust, so all you hear is motor
I drove with the top down 4 days later(56 degrees), and there are ALL KINDS of turbo noises
