i have yet to see a track/race car using a cusco cage. however i do see them using the safety 21 cages.

the cusco is made from chromoly, and has thin mounting/backing plates. there isnt much reason to believe it will do you any good on a track accident.

the safety21/spoon one tho, is made from steel and has thicker mounting/backing plates, and while having the same design it's generally felt that it would actually hold up in an accident.

so on the terms of safety

safety21 > cusco

i just don't believe that it's very likely that it would cause much harm in an accident.

that i can agree with, i doubt it would snap and stab you in the neck

but since it's a full cage, you have to be careful with your head. chances are you have a pretty good chance of hitting it with your head in an accident.

technically, it shouldnt be used without a full harness and a helmet

ahhhhh.....the great debate over the Cusco cage

So are the cusco cages just for show? I dont get it. Why would they put out a piece like that? I remember a company called MonkeyBars used to put out a show cage but Cusco?

Has anyone actually seen these so called snapping cages? Anyone have pics of damage from rollover with a Cusco?

I really want to get one but want to figure whether its just word of mouth that they are garbage or its true.
