Custom S2000 Transformer project
now that my car is pretty much done, I've decided to pick up a small hobby to pass the time. Ive always wanted a model of my car and i freaking love transformers so i decided to do my first and probably my only custom transformer. After 2 failed customs of the red s2000 transformer, i decided to pick up the japanese binaltech Arcee, which is already white with a hardtop. another plus is the fact that the body panels are all metal instead of plastic, which is both awesome but a pain, but i'll get into that later in the post.
obviously my inspiration

here is the canvas

obviously this pink stuff is not going to fly, so i was able to source many parts from the original Red s2000. thankfully all the parts are exact replicas of everything in my car

the wheels are actually from the impreza alternator smokescreen, which i then spray painted metallic silver which kyrlon fusion spray paint. finish product turned out great.
next issue at hand was the head model. i really dig the movie designs so i sourced a head from human alliance sideswipe and gave it a color scheme to match the car

screw this JDM non sense. im going back to left hand drive (and a black wheel)

decided to give suki her seats back

trading s2kitt his door insert back

or course this bot wouldnt be complete without custom weaponry. his cannon is a modified mechtech attatchment from the lowe's race car autobot topspin

really nice forearm blades sourced from the first movie's wreckage

remember when i said having metal body panels was a pain? my pin heating trick to pop the pins didnt work bc the pin holes handled the heat better than plastic would. i have to melt off the rear wheels in out to take them off. this took forever and i couldnt reuse the cool rotor brake plate behind the wheel.

all in all, day one went well. next up is to paint over the rest of this disgusting pink chassis and make it black, replace the white hands and feet with blank hands and feet, convert to single exhaust as well as paint on an single exhaust cap. i still havent decided what i should do with the wing.

so far the only dissappointment ive ran into is the fact that since the wheel pins were meant for different sized wheels, they no longer can roll. im ok with it seeing as this is a display figure. i'll keep updating this as i make progress.
