Default Custom Widebody

So Adix Customs is creating a pretty badass custom body kit for the s2k. So far it looks pretty good, other than the hood. I just heard about them today and you can follow their progress on their IG: @adix_customs.

Thoughts? Would I ever own it? nah, I prefer simple and clean body lines, but I have always appreciated really aggressive builds/look.

Very different.

Will need more than an f20/22 to pull that off.

I respect the time and imagination put into this but I think it looks horrible in the nicest way.

Yes, because of the 600lb of bondo they added to the curb weight.

Agreed, I prefer the OEM lines, but it is cool seeing something built from scratch

For once I think it needs a LS swap haha. this is coming from a guy that doesn't really like engine swaps for s2ks

yeah, I personally wouldn't do it, but I always appreciate custom builds

You do realize that the clay (definitely not bondo) is the basis to start any prefab work. Basically, it is simply used to physically model up your vision into life. Once you are satisfied with the look/form, a 3D scanner is used on the model to create 3D CAD models in order to create the parts. Clay and foam are used all the time from automakers to car part makers (and a lot of products) to make drawing board concepts into something you can actually see and touch. Things are very different from paper/computer compared to seeing the actual proportions in real life.

Here is a recent example, the development of the Voltex body kit. It was created using a mixed medium of foam and clay.

Also the infamous Circuit Garage over fenders, they started out in clay.

After formed in clay it is 3D scanned to create CAD models for part production

My background is an Industrial Designer (or product designer), so I am very familiar with the development process of how products are made and prototyped from start to finish because that is a necessary skill for designers

I guess if you want a mini viper then this is the kit for you. To me it looks like one of those bad kit cars. The front is way to bulky looking while the rear looks much smaller and tighter. It just isn't balanced properly.

Wasn’t aware of how prevalent the 3D modeling was used in this armature garage arena. Pretty cool Now if someone who had any good design taste could operate them, I would be pretty stoked
