Dealer telling me the truth about hood?
Just got my new 02' white S2000. The first thing I noticed was how difficult it was to close down the hood. I tried a few times and boy, I was worried I might dent the hood. Then I brought it over to the dealer and the guy there says "It's like that. You need to bring th hood to chest level and just let it drop." Surely when the hood left his hands, it slammed shut. He further explains that the hood was designed extra light to create flex. Is this true? Do all you guys have to slam your hood to close???
Apparently this hood is made of Aluminum and will dent fairly easily. My dealer also told me to drop the hood from chest level. After closing it a couple of times, I realized a foot or so will work. In any case, don't "push" the hood closed.
Has anyone actually dented their hood this way?

Chest level is unnecessary ... you might scare some people away with that large of a gesture. Just raise it anywhere around 12 inches (I'm assuming this isn't chest-level for you ...
) and let it drop. It should close by itself.
