Default do i upgrade?

well this is my first post here at s2ki. i've been looking around and this seems to be a great place. i've been on honda-tech and honda-acura for a while and i think it is time to upgrade to an s2k.

my current ride:

its a 96 GSR that has been turboed for almost a year. had 216whp and 157 torque, ran a 13.957 @ 102.01. has been tuned and now has 231whp and 181 torque, haven't ran that at the track yet. (mustang dyno)

well i think i need to upgrade. i have always loved the s2000 and decided that my next car has to be one. well i went to the local dealership and test drove a black 02 and it felt great. really hugs the turns and it was all stock. of course when i got on it, i was waiting to really be thrown back in my seat since im used to a turbo, but when that bad boy hit 6k, it sounded great. they were asking too much for it, like over 24, but im good friends with the salesman and he told me about the possibility of leasing a new one. i can get employee prices and he said it would be AROUND $500 down and then $350/month for 3 years. then the residual would be a little over 19k.

i figure that i can get 8-9 for my car now and that would cover over 2 years of the lease. im currently a junior in college (engineering double major) and when i get out, i should get a pretty decent job and could pay off the 19k fairly easily.

i just thought i would get your guys opinions if you were in my situation. i hear honda has one of the best lease programs in the country. i appreciate you guys reading all this. thanks for your opinions in advance

thanks for the compliments.

i dont think i would be able afford the payments if i would BUY a used s2k. the lease would help me through college and when i get out, i could pay off the rest. i just dont know what to do, but all i want is an s2k!

oh and sorry this is in the wrong topic. i thought i was in the discussion forum but i guess i was too busy looking at what my car could possibly look like

Personally, I'd say keep the teg and wait till you get out of school and have the job. You'll have excess cash that you can save or spend in the near term.

Yeah, and if you buy the S2000, you're going to want to mod it too, right? once you've got the bug, you can't just buy a new car and say "no more." I'd keep the integra and then buy a new car when you have the excess income and job. I mean, a modding habit with no car payment is much better than a modding habit and a car payment combined.
