yup 2001. At about 80,000 miles a bunch of rubber seals that are breaking down allowing coolant to leak need to be replaced - the intake systems have to be removed and it is easily a $3k-$4k job.

bought it from a friend who owns a well known BMW shop in the bay area, it was his personal car and everything has been fixed.

otherwise it's not a purchase i would recommend.
