what's the best way to get burnt tips on the HKS? Do they offer a special version or could you custom order one from them?

 

neither. burn them. (using a torch)

 

You can burn them yourself, but they will wear after a while. What you could also do is order a set of burnt tips that can be welded onto the canisters from HKS. Several other cars have an exhaust system available from HKS with burnt tips. Some are the same size and they can just be welded on. There's a guy with a GPW on youtube that did that, and it looks great.

Never was a fan of those dolphin tips.

 

Just for the hell of it, here's a picture of my car with the HKS. I have an AP1 rear which some people switch to cause they think it looks better. I personally think the AP2 rear looks great with any dual exhaust setup.
