To clarify, there are five elise models:
340R - which is considered by many to NOT be an elise, therefore it doesn't have Elise in it's name, but it is BASED on the elise platform
Elise - Your standard elise
Motorsport Elise - A specially designed GT hardtop version of the elise with modded engine meant for GT competition but which is road legal in any country except USA and Canada. Also sometimes referred to as the Elise Type72
Elise 111 - the "type R" elise
Elise LM - a one off vehicle that was testing the feasibility of entering an Elise in the LeMans 24 hours in the GT or GTS class. Currently in Lotus headquarters on display, or so I've heard

Ah, BUT at that display, it had Elise written all over it.. on various signs around it. I guess it's kind of how RSX's aren't considered Civics even though they are Civic based.
