some people have nothing better to do but post unnecessary stuff in other peoples threads. i like it when people try different things. i wouldn't even come to the gallery if everyone did the same crap. what would be the point of looking at the same crap everyday.

thank you for posting interesting chit

Have you considered a air snorkel and maybe putting the lid back on the air box. I think you would get better performance over your current setup but either way. I like it

I'm building a composite snorkel as we speak. As for the lid, it stays off . I like the VTEC noise.

I'm sure that 'wall' seals from heat soak of intake air from the block. Sarcasm btw.

Sure, high point in the engine bay is where your cut out is, so at stand, you should see heat diffuse out from the cut because, we all know, heat rises. However, at speed, where and when it matters, that area is a low pressure zone. There's less significant pull of air from the engine bay (low pressure zone) to and from the area of your cut (another low pressure zone wile moving). There's a reason why Mugen, J's Racing, and Spoon placed their engine bay vents where they did on their respective designed vented hoods. It also happens to be the better place for those without aftermarket hoods to cut their hoods. But hey, you're pioneering here...what you're doing here is original (and of course hasn't been tried or discussed in the 13 year history of this car). Yes, sarcasm again.

Put the lid back on, then take a reading of temperature both at stand and then again at speed. Compare those temps to the what you get on the same day with the lid off. If you want cold air, get yourself an AEM v2, Mugen, or an MG racing.

Yes....I as a moderator come on a thread in the forum I moderate to bash members; especially seeing that I've been a member for close to 13 years and owner for longer. That's EXACTLY my intent, alienate the membership across the board.

If you didn't create a thread to argue about or defend your modifications, then don't response. In the gallery section, people will voice their opinions and thoughts about modifications done. It's the way of life here. I just happen to have stated some knowledge instead of opinion.

I'm going to have to agree with Luder here. Since you're running what looks like a homemade duct to your K&N, a smarter choice would be to reseal the OEM airbox, wrap it with DEI, and run a snorkel down into the bumper. I can guarantee the car will run much better.

Since we're on the subject, do a bit of research on NACA ducting. And is that wall diamond plate or something of that caliber? If so, you're hurting yourself with that. It just traps heat in.
