I finally brought the camera as my 1M pixel camera was pretty crap.
anyway, i am seriously impressed with the quality of the pictures. here is a macro shot of a piston from my model engine....
(******WARNING!!!!!****** any connection below 500kb is a total no no)
i am sorry about the size of the picture i just thought that some people with quick connection might want to veiw the very high res picture.
i will try and take some pictures of the S a.s.a.p
When I went over to boston on a buisness trip they had the camera there for $640.
Also i found out last night that the HI res picture is actually only 5MP!!!.. I will have to take some 12MP when ever the sun is next out or there is enough light. I will be posting some pictures of my living room up when I get home. They are 12MP but the only problem is the file size is 2.8mb!
You must've been on a low aperture. On the hi-res picture, there's some blue-ish white fringing at the top/left edge of the cylinder. Try a higher aperture 4.5+ and slower shutter speed (with tripod if you have one). The higher aperture will also put more things into focus since the lower part of the photo is more focused than the top part.
I was interested in the camera that you purchased, but I finally purchased what I really wanted. A digital SLR that allowed me to use all of my existing lenses. Here's an example of what I can do with my wide angle lens (19mm). Notice that everything is in focus.
