Default First attempt at HDR

Downloaded the trial photomatix about 30 mins ago and took a couple of shots. I don't know much about editing so I was just 'playing' around with the bars in the program.

Those pics hurt my eyes. There's no need for HDR in shots like that.

You should focus on taking shots properly before tinkering with it in photoshop. Too many newbies never bother to learn the basics and start mucking around in photoshop. ESPECIALLY with the highlights and shadows feature for some f'ng reason. Makes all the photos look weird and crappy by giving off weird glowing edges.

Go find photography forums for tips and advice. Don't ask them in a car forum. You'll get much better critiques and advice. And don't be offended by harsh criticism. It'll only make you better.

Trust me, I am not offended--I am not photographer and well, it shows. I am hoping to get better, I am currently working on losing the noise from my nighttime long-shutter pictures. I was going for the glowing edges because I thought it looked cool. As far as the wax, I never noticed it until these pictures! I will be detailing my car soon, maybe Thanksgiving weekend. I will not miss a spot.
