gauge mounting solution
i was reading all of the different ways that people are mounting their gauges. i couldn't decide on which way i wanted to mount them so i decided to make my own mounting setup. i didn't really like the other setups because i wanted to hide the gauges as much as possible, and i figured this would best suit my goals.
i took out the stock gauge bezel and removed the stock audio controls (since i don't use them anymore) i also took out the vent just above said controls. i cut out the little crossbar in between the vent and the audio controls. i took a piece of 1/8" plexiglass and cut it to roughly the shape of the left side of the dash. i then used "plastic weld" epoxy to hold the plexiglass to the bezel. after the "plastic weld" cured i shaped the plexiglass with a dremel to the exact shape of the bezel.
i then took some regular body filler and basically slathered it on as close to the shape that i wanted it. after the body filler cured i shaped it with the dremel and then fine sanded the rest of the way by hand. after that i scuffed the whole thing by hand and painted. i think it came out very well. and here are the results. any comments are welcome. i don't know how to upload pics here so here are the direct links

idk im not a big gauge person. never look at the ones on the evo... when ur tuning the EMS tells you everything you need to know and then u just go back and change.. after the tune.. should be working right regardless. all you really need if anything is the uego gauge.
it looks clean tho.. did you try and measure to get them all 4 on the side there?

just installed them about a week ago. haven't had the chance to drive around with them yet. i wouldn't really be looking at them to much if i am driving aggressively. from just sitting there turning the steering wheel it doesn't block them to much. as for fitting all four, i couldn't make them fit. i'm sure i could have but then the gauges might have stuck out from the edge a bit. from the bottom up they are uego, oil press, fuel press, and boost press. and thank you silentdancer for posting them in the thread
^hmmm... the only time I would ever glance at my gauges or care what they were reading was when I was driving the car hard. At partial throttle or just putting around town I really didn't care what the A/F's or oil pressure were. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
