Default Got my hardtop headliner installed

During the initial installation a few weeks ago, we realized some changes needed to be made to the design, since I was the first one to get the removable version, I was the guinea pig of sorts. After working with Gavin (s2kpwned) and Allen at Statesville Trim, we got it sorted out in the first try. BTW, excellent customer service by both Gavin & Allen, they are really great people to work with, can't thank them enough.

Once it warms up outside I'll be able to get the rest of the wrinkles out and adjust it. I drove with it down to Columbus (Ohio) on Saturday (about 3 hours each way) and it's made a massive difference in how quiet the car is, no more resonant noises bouncing around the cabin, no more squeaks or anything, pretty wicked IMO. Very, very pleased with it. Anyone with a Mugen or replica Mugen top should grab one of these, especially for those who are hard top only, it has made a substantial difference in interior noise.

I paid around $700 but I also had them put the sound deadening on the back side, Asura is running the group buy now and they do have cheaper options.

I guess they're not for everyone but for the first one installed outside of our shop, it came out really well.

Thanks. No, I'm 3 hours north, but I go down there a few times each year, I'm sure I'll see you at some point over the summer

I agree.

I suppose it's all about what you want out of the car, there's very few negatives (if any) about the headliner. I suppose the only negative I can think of is that it costs money, but so far everything else I've done has cost something.

I do a lot of long distance trips in mine and when the weather up here isn't top down friendly, I'd rather it be a pleasant drive with the hard top, and this just makes it so much more enjoyable since it's actually quiet now.

It's also another way to personalize the car, but I do understand it isn't for everyone.

For $700 I'd expect the finish to be a bit better. The alcantara isn't even stretched all the way so there's ripples in it. That'd annoy the shit out of me

That part of it is on the customer doing the install. When we did the build/install here at the shop it was perfectly pulled out as you can see in the thread link in my sig. Also, keep in mind that this is the first one done outside of our shop.
