does anybody know the "theory" behind the sides with the strange shape behind the wheels? There must be an aerodynamic advantage I suppose... I don't think they only did this for the styling...?
1: to release the hot air from around the brakes and by doing so pull fresh cool air in, which helps cool the brakes
2: to release the turbulence behind the spinning tire (the tire pulls air torward the front while the car's forward motion pushes air torward the rear... equals turbulance)
3: to help keep the sides of the car covered w/ vortices -- this keeps the high pressure ambient air from slipping under the car and ruining the nice low pressure zone thats helping to plant the car on the track.
4: to make it look all GT300
5: to give paint chip repair guys even more work.... won't want the painters starving now would we.
