LOL at the comment about the side walls on the white one looking too huge. That's what a proper size tire should look like.

^ very true, the white s has proper track alignment with perfect clearing issues and fender mods to fit the 255 all around, he's even running 255 45 in the front unlike many who runs 255 40s to ride lower for rubbing issues

RS3s are not made in 255/45/17, in fact I can't think of many tires that even come in this size. 255/40/17 is the only size. Besides why would you run a tire that's a larger diameter stock? Doesn't make much sense. 255/40/17 is the correct size.

I don't think his fronts are rs3, to correct that many tire Manu Carry 255 45 17, Bridgestone, summitomo are just a few. 255 45 17 is the correct size for the front for a 17 inch wheel

From the posted photos, those are RS3s all around.

255/40/17 is the correct size. 255/45 is way too tall. It's much taller than stock and would throw off your speedometer. There's no debate about this 255/40 is the right diameter tire, 255/45 too tall. Read any post in the wheel/tire forum for proper size tries and you'll get that.

I don't think you understand how tire sizes work. The factory fronts are 45 series because its a 215 width. The 45 is a ratio of the width.

Factory sizes:

215/45 fronts, so 215 x 0.45 = 96.75
245/40 rears , so 245 x 0. 4 = 98

A 255/45 tire would be way too tall.
