found out it was actually lojack! woohoo

 

Looks like it to me. When I had those panels out, I have that connector, but nothing plugged into it. Im pretty sure its the lojack though.

 

yeah i typed some of those numbers into google and something about lojack same up but i wasnt sure if it really was or not.

these make your insurance cheaper right? lol

 

Mine was in the exact same spot - I ripped it out

Previous owner must have had it installed or perhaps the dealer put those in for security.

 

I've never seen that device in that particular area of the 3 s2000's I have had.

 

Thats probably b/c it is very expensive, and not many people spent that kind of money to put one in at the dealerships. I know mine doesnt have one.

its a tracking device/gps/security system when you get your car stolen. The thief might not know you got one install so when they park it in their garage after they got your car, you can call in and track where your car is located and cops will come to their house. busted!
