Never noticed that it was missing pedals

For the rear, more than likely, it was cut above the vents, and below the top line and re-fiberglassed together. Did this to a lot of kits back in the day.

As for the exhaust, you'd have to see below the car to see if the spare tire well was cut and brought up. If so, many have had their exhausts exit the middle that way.
