I was missing my old truck...
Is it possible you slipped up and out of the seatbelt at all? The forces of such a crash are HUGE and I have heard of it happening. Just curious here. You lived and got an S2000, so I guess that's not a bad exchange.
I did the same thing (but only at about 35mph) and completely destroyed my VW Golf - bent the roof, frame, cracked the windshield, flattened tires, but the front actually wasn't TOO bad - I didn't quite hit dead on (left front side hit first). I hit hard enough that I blacked out momentarily... Fun. Not. Took two months of visits to the chiropractor before I could regain full motion without pain or discomfort.
Btw, it was a woman that I hit...parked perpendicular to traffic on the road...at dusk...in the rain...around a corner. I could go on, but it's too painful (j/k). Ah, the stupidity we so often encounter these days (both in ourselves and others). Why is it so often a woman? My wife and I have had two accidents between us, neither of them our fault, and both times the "partners" in the accident were women. Needless to say, you can guess what my conclusion is about women drivers.

I was wearing my seatbelt, but for some reason it didn't grab like it was supposed to. My head hit the steering wheel, and then went up into the windshield; the only reason I didn't go all the way through is my lanky knees
After my head went a couple of inches into the windshield my knees hit the dash and I was thrown back into my seat. I couldn't walk for about a week, but my knees probably saved me.

Well I actually owned this 2001 Silverado after the Tacoma:

Someone broke into this truck and gutted the interior (it was all custom), so I sold this truck and bought the S. I miss both of my old trucks but its nice to have a vehicle that can actually corner. The S is my only vehicle, but I'm saving for an older Toyota Pickup right now as a second.
