You could patch it but if INS is involved, you'll prob need to just get a completly new soft top.

Is that a top frame rail right behind the cut? Might have been caused by that instead of somoene cutting it, although that is a pretty straight cut (aka knife cut). Not sure, I'm no expert.

i have the same exact cut mark, about the same length as well. there is nothing you can do besides putting tape under it. i have had the same piece of tape supporting it for the last couple months, and it prevents rain from getting in the car, but its annoying to look at...

what kind of person would do such a thing?

yeah thats what i did. threw some duct tape (i kno i kno) on the inside of it for the time being. my deductible is a grand, so i'd have to pay for it anyways. there has been a string of cars stolen in the area lately, (3 black gsr's, one black civic si, and one silver modded corvette) i sure hope somebody didn't do that in preparation to jack my shit, as i don't have a garage currently.

ehh i would think it is more of an act of vandalism than theft...if he wanted to steal it he would have already...

I have a tear in my softtop right above my head and was also wondering how I could fix / patch it. I really don't want to buy a whole new softtop. Are there any decent softtop patching kits or anything out there?

well look at the bright side, you can now justify the cost of a hardtop more easily. That looks more like vandalism to me. People suck.
