Default Idea For F1 Style Mirrors

ok, after looking at Merlins car with the new APR mirrors, has anyone ever thought of the idea put the same style of mirror actually off of the door panel, and have them connent to the small little triangle section on the top of the door, same place that a mirror would connect on a regular car? PHOTOSHOP please!?!

I was also thinking something along those lines. Anyone tried this yet? If not, I might be trying something like this soon.

the spa technique mirrors are perfect for this because the base is really small to fit that section. the only problem is of course that you would have to shave the section where the stock mirror sat, making it really hard to go back to a stock mirror. if anyone could photoshop that would be great just to see how it looks.

i like that better, but no chance of getting the power mirrors back. That triangle is easy to fabricate cause it carries no real difficult lines to re-work or anything. Just thinking of the major downside of shaving the stock location then no chance of just changing your mind.

Someone has done it, I remember seeing a picture. The problem is exactly what's been stated: you have to pay a shop to fill in the existing mirror mounting points on the doors. Just costs too much to make it worthwhile.

they sell them but you'd have to spend money plugging up the holes on the door and getting it repainted.

How about the stock mirrors? I love the way those look. Nothing else matches the lines of the car.

They do sell them. Good point, not worth it to plug up the holes.
