Beginning of summer update:

'03 ECU: Got it from a member here for $50. Had the dealer cut and program a new key as well as program my old key. It feels great with the new ECU and a couple extra ponies and supposedly better gas mileage since they leaned out the fuel map. I'll keep track and update as I go along.

Silver coated amber rear turnsignals: Got them off of ebay for like $6. Very subtle mod, but went from this (obviously not my car, but a good pic that shows the amber):

To this (my car):

Last new mod, cutoff stock exhaust: Bought it off of craigslist for $50 and used a sawzall to cut off the mufflers. Using a postal scale, I found that the mufflers weigh in at over 18 pounds each, so over 36 total. The resulting exhaust weighs in at just over 14. It is stupid loud, so I don't have it on too much. It is fun to put it on and rip around town though.

*EDIT*- Almost forgot some updated weight specs.
With the hardtop off and mufflerless exhaust I am up to 194.7 pounds off of the car. Sometimes I like to take out the passenger seat for fun, so with that out I am at 227.7. With a stock curb of 2809, that puts me at 2581.3.

How much weight did this cut? I'm thinking of doing this, but I'm seeing a lot of variance on the forums of how much weight was saved. I've seen 45-70 lbs quoted.

The spare weighed in at 24.64 pounds and the carpets/tool tray were somewhere in the 6-7 range. I don't remember exactly, because I put them back in and took them off of my list of weight reduction. I kept the tools however, and also put in a little kit with an air pump and a patch kit which weighs 3.25 pounds. I don't know where anyone would get 45-70 pounds since the spare is by far the heaviest thing back there.
