Just playing in photoshop
They look good, but you're doing what I did when I started PS.
You need to vary yourself and not just stick to B&W
You can try adjusting brightness/contrast (i sometimes do that), add colors, change colors, add lighting effects, blurs, distortions, etc etc

I have no experience with any of sort of photoshopping software but after seeing these pictures I am intrigued. Keep up the good work guys, I may have to go pick up a copy of photoshop for myself and give it a try. A sub forum for artwork like this would be awesome.
