I put the outside gauge in the sun for about ten minutes. In the shade, it's about ten degrees cooler. This will definitely make for a kick ass drive tomorrow for the AZ crew. It sure beats the 118 degrees that I posted in August.
It's really not as hot as it feels. I remeber earlier this year I posted a pic showing 118, (and was in the shade) and everyone replied how miserable it must be in AZ. Well, if you can handle 4 months of heat, it is awesome here the other 8 months. Can't wait for the group drive tomorrow. Don't worry, I am wearing shorts and t-shirt for all those in temps. below 30 degrees.
Actually, in the high country they have already had snow. I am not sure what the elevation is, but they got hit with snow last week. You can drive 2 hours and go boarding, but I don't think they have had enough to open anything as of yet. The best part about right now is the weather in the valley, because it "top down" time from now till next May.
It was almost pitch black at 4 PM because we have pretty dense clouds today. 62-70 degrees in the morning + afternoon and then 50s-60s in the evening here in LA
