are you planning on running the a048r's all the time or getting a maybe less agressive summer tire
when these wear out i plan on running the Dunlop Star Spec's.... these A048's are nicer than i thought tho... drive great just cant go over 55 in rain without some scary times.

previous owner of the car put 3k miles on it the whole time he had it.. i added another 3 and change in last 3 weeks and the A048's still show quite a bit of tread considering they only have a 60 treadwear.

work on my buddy's Elise this past weekend. car is pretty easy to work on.

exige looks good
for the most part.... everything is a little different than usual, the little things take the most time.

exhaust has been the biggest pain, i first swapped to the Larini "sport style" but was too loud... then put oem back on to swap to the current Larini 8"... taking the OEM off is a P.I.T.A. cause its heavy as crap and awkward to get on/off.

the Larini "sport style"

Nice cars...can you educate me as to why people say that the Exige isn't ideal as a daily driver?

Oh yeah, any plans of upgrading to a more aggressive wheel set-up for the Lotus?

it's essentially a go kart, if i actually had to commute for work.. or carry things/people often it would be annoying as hell. but i just screw around so for fun and screwing around its fun.. in and out is never ideal but you get used to it...

if you have a steady GF, kids, a job more than 5 minutes away, and you like carrying things in your car i wouldn't recommend it.

if you have a bunch of random GF's that you don't mind losing one or a few due to them hating your go kart, have no kids, and don't work and never carry anything larger than take out then its a fun car...

LOL.

comparing Elise to Exige... i've daily driven both and the Elise is fun and great handling car.... but you def notice the lack of power and it looks somewhat feminine to me... the only time i like the exige is when its heavily modded... which puts the price in the realm of the Exige most times..... the Exige is mean looking, looks good stock, the supercharger not only gives you great power that makes the car pull all the way to 150 but it add's great sound to the car that makes it fun to drive, also the sueprcharger means adding power is easy.. with like 5k in mods i could be at 350hp but for the time being i really like the idea of reliability, lot of people mod the car but a lot of those people seem to sell their cars shortly after so it has me weary. handling is amazing, love the car.

i dabbled with the idea, but to be honest the stock wheels are so sexy and lightweight i will never change the wheels... i've always been a wheel whore but in this car lightness is key, the only wheels lighter are volks and they no longer make them in the Elise/Exige sizes... so stock wheels for life!..

Wow! Thank you for the lessons...lol! Now I am enlightened - from a user's perspective at least...and I somewhat fall on the second category with NO kids and I used to work from home but with a steady GF.

I also share your opinion re: the Elise and the Exige. The Exige is the more macho of the two. I think it's also safe to say it's an Elise on roids

Once again, thank you for answering my questions...Now it makes sense as to why most Lotus Elise or Exige I see are just running OEM wheels.
