I have skunk2's with koni yellows and yes half of a coil cut in the front.

The spring still sits perfectly in the housing, the spring is still compressed within, even at full expansion. So it does not bounce or move. If you cut a spring right && know what your doing it'll work.

I plan to purchase the J's Type-S bumper, so no lip for me.
