Modded R35 GTRs
Yes, it is done by hand with paint.net, but it shows the perspective a bit clearer. I don't think there are any lens tricks here. Granted, without the lines it looks a LOT wider, but with the lines you see that the R34 is parked a bit to the right.
Well, I can't say much for the real world performance, and we all know that video games dont ever get it right, BUT...I've been playing NFS: pro street and I just got the R35 to replace my R34 as my grip car, and although I've got them both at the same HP level, the R34 posts quicker laptimes, but the R35 is definately easier to drive...
useless post, I know
useless post, I know
That R34/GTR shot was done with a really long focal length, which is what gives it that very flat, compressed look.
Now, long telephoto lenses (compared to a wide angle) will make the background object appear larger than the foreground object, HOWEVER, this effect increases when the distance between the foreground object and background object increases. For example: being a few miles away from a city skyline and taking a picture of the sun setting behind the skyline. With a very long focal length, the sun will look absolutely massive behind the city.
In this case, where the two cars are about bumper-to-bumper, this effect is insignificant, and this shot gives you a good idea of the size comparison.
Ergo, someone at Nissan set the target weight for the GTR somewhere in the area of a main battle tank.
