I would so get one of these and replace my sagging factory shift boot if I could get the FD2 round knob off that came with the car. Doesn't budge no matter how hard I twist. I'm worried about breaking the damn lever.

^It might be attached with some loctite or something. Is the a lock not thing on the bottom? If not probably held on with loctite. Unfortunately might have to heat it to remove it. Sometimes using some rubber gloves on each hand helps to twist it off if no held on with red loctite. That stuff won't break loose unless heated.

And the locknut won't thread down? You have to loosen the nut by turning it clockwise to loosen the hold on the shift knob and then you can remove the shift knob by unscrewing it.

Yeah, it's tight as heck. I'm thinking they used loctite on it in addition to the locknut. I'll give it another shot tonight with a little heat.
