This Halloween my dad and I went to Santa Cruz to the Monarch Resting Grounds. It was amazing! So many butterflies, it was like every tree was alive with fluttering oranges and yellows!



























I really suggest checking this place out, the monarchs should be there all through November! Right near the boardwalk there is a park and if you walk about a three quarters of a mile you'll reach the Resting Grounds.

 

Afterward we went to the pier and watched a couple whales, sea lions and otters playing amongst the ships and canoes.

You should! I highly recommend it. There were a few little ones there that were SO cute. One of them tried to talk to the butterflies. He'd run to them and say, "Hello little guy! Hey!" SO cute.
