Default My 500+hp Turbo s2000 Build Thread!

Ok, I'm making this partly for myself to help keep everything organized, but hopefully some of you may find it interesting as well. About four months ago I bought a turbo'd 2000 s2000. It was setup with a LoveFab manifold and a Precision pt6262 turbo. Here is a list of parts (off the top of my head) that have gone into this project. I will continue updating this as I remember more parts. I am going to try to sit down with the previous owner and try to make a giant list of all of the parts, down to the part numbers, that are on the car.

Drivetrain
Garret gt35r chr
FullRace Manifold
Spearco Front-Mount Intercooler
Full Custom 3" Exhaust
Custom 3" Downpipe
Comptech 4.77 Final Drive Gears
Tial 44mm Wastegate
Greddy RS Blow-off Valve
Cometic 3mm Head Gasket
ARP Head Studs
6-puck Sprung Clutch
RC 1000cc Injectors
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
Hondata 4-bar Map
D1spec Catch Can
I am also picking up a new Koyo Radiator and Samco Radiator Hoses on Monday

Suspension/Braking
SPC Rear Camber Kit

Exterior
OEM Front Bumper w/ OEM Front Lip
OEM Rear Spoiler
17" ASA Ar1 Wheels

Electronics
AEM 1052 EMS
Defi Boost Gauge
Defi D-Link Controller Unit
Greddy Full Auto Turbo Timer
PLX M-300 Wideband

This is on the dyno at National Speed in Wilmington, NC, when it belonged to the previous owner. It has a gt35r turbo on the LoveFab manifold at this point.

This is how the car sat when I purchased it, minus the Seibon carbon fiber hood. It was involved in a fire; its a long story involving a friend's car. When I bought the car I was told by the previous owner that there was a brand new LoveFab topmount manifold in the car. 500 miles later, as I was driving down the highway at a steady 65mph on cruise control, my "brand new" manifold cracked and my wastegate fell off and, luckily, got hung up in the engine bay before falling through to the road. I decided to call the previous owner to let him know what happened in hopes that he would have it taken care of. Unfortunately, it is at this point that I realize that he is no longer answering my phone calls. I decided to call Cody, the owner of LoveFab, to ask him if the manifold would be covered under warranty but when I gave him the previous owner's name he informed me that it was not a new manifold, it was a manifold that he had repaired and that it was not even in production anymore. Obviously, it was not covered under any type of warranty so this left me with a decision. I could repair this manifold and buy some time until it cracks again, or buy a new manifold altogether. The seals on the turbo were cooked because the turbo timer was not running the ignition and so the turbo was not cooling properly. The rebuild was supposed to take eight weeks, and I didn't have eight weeks to wait. So this left me needing a new turbo as well. I decided to buy a Full Race manifold and a new Garret gt35r chr turbo. I am having the turbo and manifold installed and having the car rewired right now. It is also getting a new fuse box, catch can, battery relocation, charge piping, custom downpipe, Hondata 4-bar map, and a few other things I'm sure I'm missing. When all of this is done I'm going to schedule an appointment at National Speed to have it re-tuned. After all of this, it should be running perfectly and I'm hoping to make upwards of 500 at the wheels, but I will run a low-boost map for daily use at around 400. Next will be a set of Buddy Club N+ Spec coilovers and a Shine Auto AR1 front bumper. After my bank account recuperates from this project I will put a new set of wheels on the car. hellaflush?

I will keep this updated as much as I can. I will leave you with a few teaser shots of the new manifold. Enjoy!

:thumbdwn: for previous owner but for new one. Sounds like you have some good plans for it. What kind of wheels would you want to get if you could afford them? Just curious to know your taste.

Update:
The car is now going to be tuned at National Speed in Wilmington, NC. I spoke with Jordan on the phone today and we decided to tune the car there. Jordan has been a huge help throughout this entire project. If anyone else in North Carolina is looking for parts, tuning, or performance work you should definitely give them a call!
