I wonder how he got that BAR certified.
It shouldn't be that difficult actually. It's not a truck motor going into a car. The engine is newer than the chassis. As long as he has all the emission stuff hooked up then he should be good to go.

Swapping motors, and getting them legal isn't as difficult as a lot of people make it out to be. You just have to know what the rules are, and be thorough.

Bad ass car BTW I would love to have one as a project car.

the hardest part of that swap is the headers clearing the firewall. since it needs to be carb approved it needs to maintain carb legal or oem headers. Long tube headers drop low enough for the firewall, but the shorty headers make for alot of complications

He had to buy C6 Z06 cats. After that it was all good. The car passed the sniffer with flying colors. Its nearly a zero emissions vehicle.

i almost bought a 94 fd chassis last year to start this exact project. My Gf talked me out of it because we only have a 1 car garage right now. as soon as i move into a bigger house we are gonna buy a fd for her and eventually swap a f20c into it

The engine is the reason to own the RX-7 imo, but its nice to have an LS engine in a car that can actually handle.

the LSx was the best thing to ever happen to the RX7.
