My hawaii vacation
Please let me know what you think. I was being a wannabe photographer. I only picked what I thought some of my best pics. Be helpful but don't flame. I want to learn. I'm still trying to comprehend the ISO, apreture, shutter speed. I also can't figure out why some shots that were not zoomed came out so grainy.
The girl in some of the pics is my wonderful wife.
Most shots where Manual mode with a Canon Powershot S1 IS.
I didn't resize that way you could see what the picture really came out like.

hope you enjoyed your visit. i sometimes forget how pretty our state is. thanks for the pics.
BTW any of you guys that are planning to visit should post up in our Hawaii forum. we try (once in a while we're successful) to organize a S2Ki get-to-gether if possible. sometimes a dinner, or if we're lucky a lunch and a little cruise.

Your pics are nice, they have good composition. However, I'm wondering why they're so grainy, not much clarity there. Did you capture at the highest res? It almost looks like a fast scan of 35mm photos.
Either that or I'm just too jaded after seeing DSLR pics? Doubt it though.

Very nice, I was stationed in Pearl Harbor for 4 years and absolutely loved it. It looks like those pics are of Oahu. If you ever get the chance, hop over to Maui, my personal favorite.
