I think to an extent you are correct. The people that run shows have different catagories and are very in ago but I do not believe (I could be wrong) that any of the show judge is younger than 20.
I am 23, I think that a car can be a total show car with out "rice" body kits per say. Look at DarkCrows car, TOTALLY clean and could be a TOTAL show car. To me (its just my opinion) a god body kit should flow with the cars body lines, not break them. I do have a weakness for the GT wings though

I agree with you Druken Monk, that body kits should flow with the cars line and not break them. But I don't know if its me or what, but almost all the Best of show cars, has big a$$ wings, crazy decals, and some useless mods, like the big tachs and fire extinguisher and stuff. But to me....winning a best of show has been "A" dream for the past well....6 years.....and even if it means to RICE out my car, but only to the certain extent. For sure I will not put decals and NOS into my car. But I think the GT wing is acceptable, but I agree it doesn't flow with all the cars. But for me I think it looks ok on this car. And well....for the hood, I got a pretty good deal on it, $1500 CAD for the hood, the Blitz kit and the exhaust which was used for only 3 months. Right now I'm planning on getting the Wald wide body kit and a TRD hood.

i always felt the is300 would look better with those 2 round red lights on the trunk lid shaved. either that, or replace those red lense with smoked ones. while you're at it, you might want to shave off those 2 amber side markers from the rear bumper. if not, then you should replace them with smokes lenses as well... but personally, i think shaving them would give it a more unique and clean look to the is300.

Wow....someone is on the same boat as I am with the trunk lights. I did order the smoked ones, same with the rear diffuser lights. As far as shaving them....it'll just look like the....hmm...1994-1998 style Accord with altezza lights (i think that's the year). Because I've actually seen someone in the streets with those lights AND they added the rear foglights on their trunk lid too. I was like, um...I don't think that's a Lexus~

Junk the wing....I think it looks good but......modding can be taken too far.

Know when to stop.
