Default My new tattoo

Just got my hand tattoo'ed last night. Been wanting to do it for years, what do you think of it?

That is badass. I don't think I would ever put a tattoo on my hand, but if you don't need a job with a suit and tie then I guess its a different story.

You're not in the Marines are you? I thought they outlawed any new tattoos.

No, I did my time and got out in 2000. When I was enlisted you could get tattoo's as long they did not show while in your alpha uniform which is kind of like a suit and tie. You could get waivers to get in for tattoos that you already had but now I think it is different. My tattoo artist does a lot of cover-ups for the local recruiting station since you can not join any of the armed forces with a tattoo that is demeaning to any race, sex, or religion. You would be amazed at what people have on them. A kid in my platoon in boot camp had a giant Nazi alliance miral on his entire back! Another guy who was in my company in the fleet had "arien nation" across his throat. Keep in mind that I was in the infantry, where they send people that had been in trouble in civilian life or scored low on the asvab test.

When I was in Iraq in 2003 I actually got along with more Marines even though I was in a Naval Construction Battalion. Nice tatoo.. What do you do now that you are out? I got out in December 05 and am enjoying my time!

I sell and deliver beer for an Anheuser-Busch distributor. It's a good job with union insurance and a great retirement. Plus unlike other companies in Michigan we are very busy and my job is very secure at this point.
