My old sleeper
SSR's? No way, they'd cost more than the car's shell... lol The car was sold... needed money for an R1.... guy who bought it drove it across a couple states home, the proceeded to blow it up the very next day after he made it home.
favorite stories... toyed with a chubby kid in a 95ish Z28 on the highway, he kept looking over all surprised each time... he finally hung WAY back... I slowed rolling at about 25.. he came by at full throttle doing maybe 60, I nailed it and caught him by 100, passing him at a good clip, had a couple lengths within seconds... he followed me off the off ramp, rolled his window down... flustered red and speaking very fast "How much are you spraying, how much? you're spraying a lot huh?" Me: "nope, I could do this to you all night" he follows me to two more stop lights, each time "tell me how much you're spraying"
but my favorite... a kid rolled up in a junky 2nd gen integra, with a fart can, I stayed just barely ahead of him each time, just to amuse him, and occassionally after 8 seconds when he'd reach 45mph I'd light up the tires... he asked me to pull over so I did, asked what I had done to the car me: "air intake, and exhaust, made it really fast" Kid: "can I see under the hood?" me: "sure"... kid looks at engine confused (mind you the turbo sits right next to the valve cover in plain sight)... Kid: "I know you're hiding a supercharger in here somewhere" Me: "Nope, no supercharger" It took all I had not to laugh.... he then says "well I gotta get going, I'll give you a real run when I get my Type R motor next week" me: "wow, that should be a good race"
The only really good race I got, which I did not expect was an older guy in an AMC, I think it was a javelin, he initially pulled one car length on me (across burnside bridge for anyone from Portland)... we got up to about 120 and I had neither lost nor gained anything... got to the stop light, he was real cool said "that thing is fast, and I was cheating" you could smell it in the air, the sweet scent of nitrous... we both laughed and went our seperate ways...
