Default My Powdercoated Rims (pics)...

I was tired of the same old look on my car, but didn't want to splurge for the CP-035's that I really want. I decided to powdercoat my wheels to give the car a different look that will satisfy me until I can get a new set of rims (cost = $200). I picked them up yesterday, and snapped a few pics between then and now. I'm hoping to get some better pics this weekend...but this is for those who were dying to know how they came out. I ordered the Spoon lugs as well, as I don't like the shiny chrome look of the stock lugs with the black rims. These pictures don't really do the rims justice. They are very glossy (95% gloss), as opposed to the matte style that you usually see. The rims reflect light / color nicely, and look incredible when rolling. I'm painting the center caps tonight (glossy black), and they will go back on the car.

I almost didn't post the pictures because they didn't come out that well...they didn't capture the true look of the rims.

how did you find the color for the center caps? i like the rims better with the center caps on, but i'm not sure how you could get the color to really match.

...from what i remember, dale's center caps didn't look all that great with his black rims ('cause the color of black he had used was a little off).

Dale's rims are flat black, they look completely different. I can't answer your question, you'll just have to see them and see for yourself.

Back to the rims, here's a larger pic of the car, rims are easier to see.

wes, in that picture, your rims look like the roja rims that the fast and furious guy (i forgot his name) has on his S2000.

if i had spa yellow, i would probably get gunmetal. he wrote in his original post that they cost him $200.

wes nice choice. i luv that look. im debating on doing to the new wheels i have on order. the ssr gt3's. only thing is i have heard some different opinions about powder coating semi forged wheels. anyone know if it really dos damage the wheel? its a 3 piece wheel so i would only be doing the wheels, but still, who wants to risk damaging a 550 dollar wheel
