My prius next to the S and thoughts on Hybrids.
It's been a long time since I been on s2ki... there's so many amazing S2k now, loving the progression. On that note I know Hybrids are not well received in the tuning world, yes there are better alternatives, but in the end technology moves forward.
I purchase a 2010 Prius last summer and I love it. It's pretty geekie with all the tech stuff such as Lane Keep and Intelligent Parking Assist system, roof-mounted solar panel, regenerative breaking etc.... It's got 4 driving modes normal, ev, pwr, eco. EV mode is sweet it allows the prius to be driven on batteries up to 40mph. There's a hack in which 75 mph can be achieve. I don't wanna sound like popular mechanics but the future has a place for hybrids. Especially once auto makers start rolling out high performance models. Porsche with the gt3 and 918 already did, Ferrari is on it's way.
I love honda of old, S2000, NSX, Integras, preludes etc... but the game has change and honda is moving in the right direction with the CR-Z. It's ironic that one of the first and greatest electric car every made, the EV-1 was created by GM in 1990 only to be destroy by oil greed money hungry politicians.

I personally think hybrids are a waste of money (studies are showing that the excess $ spent on them is not returned via the better gas mileage, etc.), but if you're a green wacko, then I guess that's reason to have one
I'm not sure why anyone would spend the extra money on that Lexus hybrid vs. the Prius, the former looks cheap in person and may only satisfy the brand snobery in someone
