thanks guys! i love it so far. i'm pretty much done modding for now, maybe a header and tune in the future...or save up for FI like every other person on this site lol

My car's outta warranty now, and I may be experiencing a little squeak here and there from the passenger side rear wheel bearing, so i have to get that looked at and hopefully it won't break the bank.

armos2k- wut's up dude? where's the time attack at? I've totally procrastinated this whole summer on going to the track lmao

did cusco ever take care of the 06+ brackets? what did you have to do to make it fit? fabricate new brackets for your 07?

cheeks089: It's a Safety-21 Five Point Rollbar. The bar you see going across most cars is an optional harness bar for 4/5 point seatbelts to attach to. I didn't want that bar cuz it takes away the secret compartment usability, and I don't think I'll be putting aftermarket seats in my car.

RunUrAss: I bought the rollbar from a dude in Florida who had it in his 07, and he had cut parts of the metal bracket for the passenger mounting spot, but left two holes there to bolt in. With the two holes there, we wedged the seat rail in it's spot than bolted the rollbar down, and it's held in really snug.

I would have preferred that the previous owner didn't cut two holes out, and I may get someone to refab the other two holes, but we'll see what happens.

whats the gauge of the steel? would this help in a roll over?
I'm really not sure. I would guess it would help in a rollover, but maybe some other owners can chime in for me here.

I do know that safety 21 is steel and cusco is chromoly(?)

From the roll cage thread....

Heres you "dead weight" safty 21 bar after a 70+ foot fall off the road. It looks like the only part of the car that held up. Notice how none of the bars broke off and hit him in the head, I would say that that works pretty darn good for a "show purpose" roll bar. I know welded bars are better, but you guys really underestimate the cusco/safty21 bars.

not a fan of roll bar/cage on the street(where you will never wear a helmet), head vs steel tube = busted watermelon
most of the miata guys running one is also having certified padding
