After about 10 years of driving schools with my CRX-Si, I have replaced it with a 2002 S2000. This past weekend was my first time out on the track with My Spa. The development of the Triple-H Rollbar took more time than I was planning on this summer so the car was in almost completely stock trim for my 1st school. About the only change is the Spoon X-brace (that you can actually see in this pic), Neuspeed shock tower brace and the Mugen thermostat/fan switch/radiator cap.

Yup, I took the RM Racing lip off because I sometimes drive over the big apex going into the inner/outer loop. I was afraid if it hit the concrete it might shatter and then I would most likely slice a front tire, not good considering that front right tire would be getting all the front suspension load in about one second.
However, the lean on the car was so slight I may try it at the Spring school.Better than the CRX-Si? Not an easy question to answer. Part of the fun of the CRX-Si is that others did not expect it to hang with them, let alone have to point it buy because it was so fast through the corners. With the CRX-Si the apex speed in turn 10 was over 80mph with no brakes at the turn-in point. With street tires on the S2000 I was not going in over 70. So the corners were slower but a part of that is only me getting more skilled with rear wheel drive and not having track tires.
The part that was more fun was seeing 120+ on the back straight
, along with being able to leap out of the Toe of the Boot (turn 7) and rocket up the hill. With the CRX-Si there was just not enough power to get up that hill quickly and I would have to give point-buys to some of the cars that had power but slower cornering speeds. On Sunday for over 30 minutes I was flying around the track right behind a Porsche, they all look the same to me but I believe it was an RS America. There was no way I could get past him, but there was also no way he could run away from me. Had I had better brake pads and track tires like he had, I know I could have eventually gotten by.
What a great car!
