i was thinking about removing that black plastic thing in the center of my03 bumper. has anyone ever done this? if so, got pic??

 

why? It protects the radiator and covers up the ugly-ness.

 

it's there to add structural support for that big gap. remove it and things start sagging. Besides, it's hardly noticeable and looks much better than the AP2's criss cross design.

 

maybe i will keep it on, if it's for structural support...

I purchased my AP1 with the top portion of the grill removed.. didnt see much of a difference in the structural support, but I think it looks better than the regular 2-row plastic grill.. you can't tell in the pic anyway, but heres how it looked when the car was stock with an OEM front lip.

 

it doesnt look as good as you think it would.....i've seen an few S's with the grill gone not so cool

It actually looks pretty good when you have a HUGE intercooler behind the grill... But with nothing behind it, it doesn't look good.
