Get a polarize filter for your camera. It will be your best buddy on out door shoot.

kenchow69 - is the UV lens filter the same as a polarized filter?

CA S2K - thanks i bought it used off a member on the boards..I've been taking as many random pics as possible to learn about this camera

S special - my roommate actually told me to not spoil myself with different lenses starting out and to fully take advantage of the kit lens it came with..I'm excited to eventually try out the other lenses available

no, polarize filter (you will probably want to get a circular polarized filter) is to filter out off axis light reflections.
