I was thinking of getting a cooling plate as well, the ARC ti one seems to be the nicest one, but its fvckin' expensive and I will have to cut it to fit the Mugen intake....as far as i understand, cutting titanium wont be a funny thing to do...please post some pictures when u get the cooling plate installed, congrats on the sweet mods!!

Actually, the bulge in the intake charge pipe is called the "Tsuchinoko" Chamber. As I understand it, the concept behind it is to kind of "store" more air in there than the engine can gasp for on a given breath. The net effect they are aiming for is an increased throttle response because of the surplus of air, new air does not have to be "pulled" through the filter so to speak, its already available between the filter and the throttle body.
